“Division among Families” - Author Ron Nelson

Updated: Dec 29, 2021

“Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. 35 For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; 36 and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ Matthew 10: 34-36;

As I was studying my morning devotions, the Holy Spirit spoke to me loud and clear about the bible reference above. We live in a world where the above verse is happening at an unprecedented level. I have never seen such division amongst families as I see today. There are very few families if any that I know of that are all living in complete harmony. This message is extremely hurtful to me because it has even happened in my own family. Growing up, I believe our family was as tight as a family could be. We would gather every Sunday with family and enjoy the day to the fullest. But, since my parents passed away during the last couple years, times anything but what it used to be. Not only family, but also friends are turning on friends like never before.

Now, if you have been reading the bible and understand that which was written thousands of years ago, this shouldn.t surprise you. As disturbing as these things are, Jesus Christ said these things must happen before He returns to claim what He lost six thousand years ago in the Garden on Eden. This bible verse above is one of many predictions that have been written in advance of what will take place in the end of days. You have to be blind, or you just don’t care if you can’t see what is happening to our society and the world at large. We have allowed the world and even more disturbing, our own nation to be divided because of the fear mongering that has been permeating our air waves the last couple of years. Just a quick note; there is an agenda behind all of this and it is finally coming to fruition, but once again, these things have to happen before Jesus Christ will return. Now, with all this being said, I have a couple of scenarios of what I believe might happen in the near future. I may be 100% wrong, but nonetheless, it is something to think about.

First, let me first share a rather pleasant scenario. I have felt this to be the case for quite some time, and even though I’m not totally convinced, it does make sense to me. First of all, let me say this right up front, only God knows what is in our immediate future, I’m just sharing food for thought. There is a bible verse that continues to jump out at me that makes me lean this way. 1 Thessalonians 5:3; “For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.” To me, this is a verse concerning the “catching up of the Saints to meet the Lord in the air.” Why do I say that? Because the verse just before it says this, 1 Thessalonians 5:2; “For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.” Many, including me believe this verse is in reference to the Rapture of the church for obvious reasons. Everything else that is in end time predictions is laid out so we know what to expect at any given moment. As for peace and safety, unless you are totally out of touch with reality on what is going on in our world, you have to see that it is anything but peace and safety. We read this interesting verse that explains why I say this. Matthew 24:44; “So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. Most people that I know that are prophecy enthusiasts are saying the rapture is coming soon, and it may be. They are expecting Jesus to come now. That denies the message above of what Jesus said. It has to be a time when we least expect Him according the verse above. I feel there must be a short time of peace and safety to the point where people are once again feeling pretty safe and secure. Then when they are saying peace and safety, the “catching up of the Saints to meet the Lord in the air” happens in a twinkling of an eye and them, sudden destruction. We read this in 1 Thessalonians 4:17; “After that, we who are still alive and are left will be “caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the LORD in the air,” And so we will be with the LORD forever.”

Also, I believe that during this small interval of time that may come upon the world, many people that came to Jesus out of fear when things were bad will once again forget about Jesus and go about their everyday lives as thought nothing ever happened. During a time of peace, only those that truly love Jesus will continue to walk with Him out of love and respect and thankfulness for what He is doing in the lives of the saved. Those that came to Jesus in fear will slowly fade off and forget all about Jesus just as it was before all this fear came to fruition. Example…911. Jesus will know His true “Born-again believers and when everything seems to be going peaceful, millions of believers will be snatched out of this world in the twinkling of an eye and what will happen next, destruction, that will then usher in the last seven year period of life as we have known it. The Bible refers to it as the “Great Tribulation.” Once again, I can’t emphasize enough that this is just a version of what I believe could happen. No need to bash me and start any arguments.

The second one is not so pleasant and a lot of good scholars believe this is where we are headed and I wouldn’t argue with them for a second. The world is getting increasingly hostel, especially toward Christians. Unless Jesus intervenes, things will get worse and worse to the point where we, here in America could suffer the same fate that the Christian body has had to endure for the last two thousand years, Extreme persecution. The persecution that we could face, I believe will happen to those that come to Jesus during the tribulation period. But for us that are here until that time doesn’t mean we will have a safe ride prior to the return of Jesus for His Saints. Things could get very bad for the “born-again believers.” I don’t particularly lean this way because it seems to deny a lot of what the Bible teaches, such as peace and safety before destruction. This would not be a time of peace and safety which Jesus referred to in the verse about in 1 Thessalonians 5:3. Jesus said the tribulation would be a time like no other meaning it would be horrible beyond words. Once again, that doesn’t sound like peace and safety to me. Matthew 24: 21-22; “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.” Does this sound like peace and safety?

Regardless of which scenario we get hit with, if either one, the only thing that we should be concerned with is our relationship to Jesus Christ. Nothing else should matter at this point in time. Jesus is coming soon, how soon nobody really knows, but all the signs that we were told to watch for are all converging at once. The only reason that Jesus hasn’t come yet is found in the following verse, 2 Peter 3:9; “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” God is waiting until every soul written in the “Lambs Book of life” receives the promise of everlasting life through Jesus Christ who paid for the sins of those that would accept His propitiation for sins. Yes, Jesus did pay for the sins of the world, but only those that accepted the gift of Grace, will benefit from His sacrifice. I can say with complete understanding of wisdom and knowledge that nothing has to happen before that rapture of the saints can happen, it could happen at any moment or it could take a few years. My main point is this, get ready for some interesting days ahead and make sure that you know Jesus Christ personally so whatever happens, you can be sure that all things are working out for the good as we read in Romans 8:28; “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” No fear for those that put their trust totally in Jesus Christ. “Written To the extreme glory of God, and Inspired by the Holy Spirit!” Amen!
