“Darkness is the absence of Light” - Author Ron Nelson

BIBLE REFERENCE:

“I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.” John 12:46

WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT:

John 8:12; Again, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” People will read this verse and let it go right over their head. Jesus is not saying that we will live in darkness as in pitch black, but those that do not follow Jesus will walk in spiritual darkness. I remember a few years ago when I was visiting the “Cave of the Mounds” at Blue Mounds State Park in Wisconsin. While we were in the cave, our guide told us that he was going to turn off all the lights so that we would know what total darkness was. When the lights went out you couldn’t see your hands in front of your face. It was a darkness that you could feel but could not be explained. The only way that you can explain this kind of darkness is by saying there was absolutely no light whatsoever. See, we take light for granted, but think about this. Take away the sun, the moon and all the stars and our world would be in total darkness. There would be no materials that could be found for artificial light. This my friends is what I believe the Bible refers to as outer darkness, where those that reject Jesus Christ will live forever, and yes, I did say live. The phrase "outer darkness" is mentioned three times in the Bible. These three times are: Matthew 8:12; “But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 22:13; “Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 25:30; “Throw out the worthless slave into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Every time outer darkness is mentioned it is followed up by “weeping and gnashing of teeth.” It doesn’t sound like a place anybody would like to be, but yet, all those who reject Jesus Christ and His propitiation for sin will be cast into outer darkness, not because God is rejecting you, it is because you have rejected His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. We read in 2 Peter 3:9; “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” Have you ever wondered why God has not judged America yet or the world for that matter? It is because of the verse that I just sheared above. The world is living on borrowed time, especially America.

We read in the scriptures where God will not strive with man forever, there is an appointed time when God will judge all the unbelieving inhabitants of earth for their blatant disrespect for His Word and for rejecting Jesus Christ and the price, He paid so that we could be saved. I believe that time is very near for obvious reasons. Every Bible believing prophecy student will say the same thing. What amazes me is this, all those that have spent years studying Gods Word and His plan for the second return of Jesus Christ all are in agreement about the soon return of Jesus Christ. Why is it that so many people mock and criticize those that know? If someone studied cancer for most of their life, nobody would have any problem accepting their diagnosis of how cancer works and how it can be prevented, but yet, we are being lied to about cancer and its reasons for so many cases. We believe all the lies that are presented to us by those we say we trust, but the one thing and only thing that I believe is absolute truth is the Word of God. I personally believe nothing else if it isn’t supported by the Word of God, especially in these days in which we live.

So, back to my purpose for writing these messages. Our world is heading in a direction where extreme darkness is on the near horizon. I mean spiritual darkness that will be felt by every living creature during this time. Those of us that have been watching and studying the scriptures of the end times know this as a fact. We are watching this darkness creep up on us like a lion about to spring on its prey. The lion is five feet away and ready to claim victory. We are that close.

Now, I’m not one that likes to end a message with gloom and doom so I will share with you the hope that lies in our God. There have been many times throughout history where it looked as if all was lost, especially when considering Israel. When Israel fell into idolatry God would bring judgement upon them just when all looked hopeless to bring them back to Him. Take the Red Sea for example. Even though it would appear that all is lost and there is no hope, I always believe God has one more miracle. It will take a miracle of biblical proportion to save our country now. If we all get on our knees and pray and call out to God, I believe that miracle will happen. There is a Bible verse that we need to believe in and take to heart. It is found in 2 Chronicles 7:14; “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” The ball lies in our court. Are we going to call on God and humble ourselves and turn from our wicked ways or are we going to ignore His message of mercy and suffer the consequences? When judgement does come, don’t blame God, He has been warning us morning, noon and night for a long time of what we need to do. We have no one to blame but ourselves for what is about to come if we don’t repent and turn to Him.

Remember, we are all in darkness. Jesus said in John 8:12; “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life.” Jesus is the only light, if you reject the light, you will live eternity in “Outer Darkness.” Come to the light today and join the many who have already submitted to the Word of God as truth. There is no other truth outside of the Word of God.
